FOMCA provides education about animal issues to the community.
TeacH Kids to Care
The Adopt-a-Classroom program teaches elementary school children to treat animals with kindness and respect. Friends is looking for local businesses, civic groups, or individuals who would like to adopt a classroom.
Each $30 tax-deductible contribution made to FOMCA for the Adopt-a-Classroom program provides a K-4 teacher and his or her class with a subscription to KIND News. The classroom newspaper features articles, activities, puzzles, and celebrity interviews that emphasize the importance of kindness and help children put basic values like compassion, responsibility, and respect into practice.
A subscription to KIND News includes five issues, September through May. Each issue comes with twenty-eight copies of the newspaper and a teacher’s guide. Teachers also have access to reproducible worksheets to supplement each issue.
OUr Goal is Fifty-two classrooms
Highly acclaimed by thousands of teachers nationwide, KIND News has received numerous awards for educational and editorial excellence. FOMCA hopes to provide this valuable character education tool to as many as fifty-two classrooms in Madison County.
